If You Haven’t Visited the John Deere Tractor ‘Graveyard’ in KY, It’s High Time
Have you ever driven through Amarillo TX and had to do a double take because you thought you saw a bunch of Cadillacs sticking out of the ground? I did. And how pleasing the experience was.

That, my friends, is pure Americana.

Yes, indeed, it is the Golden Anniversary of the legendary Cadillac Ranch, and it is a MUST for roadside oddity enthusiasts. It is ALSO quite the inspiration. And that inspiration came to fruition right here in good old Kentucky.

I don’t know if Linda Bruckheimer was going stir crazy because of COVID when she got started on this, but it DID happen in 2020. Bruckheimer is a Kentucky native and splits her time between here and Los Angeles where she lives with her husband, super-producer Jerry Bruckheimer. And four years ago, taking her cues from the Cadillac Ranch, Bruckheimer orchestrated the “half-burial” of ten John Deere tractors at 1215 Taylorsville Road in Bloomfield KY. It is private property, but there’s an area where you can pull off the road and get some good pictures.

An author, photographer, collector, and lover of roadside attractions, Bruckheimer told Lexington’s FOX56 that she discovered Bloomfield while going for a drive and decided to create a roadside attraction of her own. And, voila, a “garden” of John Deere tractors sticking out of the ground.

Plus, they are a most WELCOME attraction; Bloomfield sees a lot of traffic just because of these tractors.
